Chief Financial Officer

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of the executive management team, responsible for developing financial strategy, overseeing operations, and scaling the performance of the firm. The CFO will play a critical role in supporting the firm’s growth trajectory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving financial/product innovation. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in IPOs, commercial papers, and other capital market instruments, as well as a deep understanding of capital markets, regulatory frameworks, and capital raising.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the development and execution of BRB Capital’s financial strategy in alignment with its business objectives.

  • Oversee long-term financial planning, forecasting, and capital allocation across all business units.

  • Provide strategic financial counsel to the CEO and Board of Directors.

  • Support innovation in product and project development based on evolving market trends.

2. Capital Markets & Deal Execution

  • Spearhead the structuring and execution of capital market transactions, including IPOs, bonds, commercial papers, and other instruments.

  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies (SEC, NGX, FMDQ), issuing houses, and other market stakeholders.

  • Oversee asset maintenance and coordination of forex bid purchases with CBN and banking partners.

  • Provide financial leadership in mergers, acquisitions, and fundraising activities.

3. Business Development & Product Marketing

  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to shape strategic go-to-market initiatives.

  • Support the promotion of company products including investment, savings, loan products, and treasury instruments.

  • Align brand and product positioning with overarching financial goals.

4. Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Direct accounting, budgeting, treasury, and tax operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.

  • Oversee the preparation of daily/weekly financial reports, monthly management accounts, and performance dashboards.

  • Lead the reconciliation of key accounts, review Infoware postings and ensure authorization protocols.

  • Ensure timely submission of financial returns to regulatory authorities including SEC, NSE, EFCC, FIRS, and LIRS.

  • Supervise both internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and regulatory adherence.

5. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks across the organization.

  • Uphold best-in-class corporate governance practices.

  • Ensure full compliance with Nigerian and international financial regulations (e.g., SEC, CBN, IFRS, FIRS).

6. Liquidity & Fund Management

  • Manage the firm’s liquidity profile, optimize capital structure, and ensure efficient deployment of funds.

  • Monitor working capital and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align investment performance with strategy.

7. Strategic Leadership

  • Champion cross-functional collaboration and foster a high-performance finance team.

  • Partner with business leaders to drive profitability, cost optimization, and sustainable growth.

  • Lead strategic initiatives, new product launches, and corporate development efforts.

8. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with regulators, investors, analysts, and financial institutions.

  • Represent BRB Capital at industry conferences, board meetings, and investor briefings, championing the firm’s financial vision and reputation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • A master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) and professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CFA) are strongly preferred.
  • A SEC-sponsored individual is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role in investment banking, corporate finance, or capital markets.
  • Demonstrated experience managing IPOs, commercial paper issuance, and other capital markets transactions.
  • In-depth understanding of the Nigerian financial system, global capital markets, relevant regulatory bodies, and international regulations as required.
  • Strong financial modeling capabilities, strategic planning, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
